Mammoth Market trading in Ilford

Market to raise funds for Ilford Mammoth

For the first time ever Redbridge will hold a traders market and fayre to raise funds for the Ilford Mammoth.  Our event starts on the 2nd August 2015 and will comprise of seven days of market trading in our town centre with a difference.

Our intent is to help small businesses, new start-ups, community groups and charities compete with more established businesses. This is not an opportunity for stalls from across the country to ply their trade in our high street selling items we do not need or are irrelevant - not at all!

This will be an opportunity for local people to try out new ideas in the high street for a short period to see if their local knowledge of our needs as a community were correct. So hopefully you should see items for sale, or information distributed that is both relevant locally and beneficial.

Give us a try and help raise money to install a £50,000 replica mammoth skull of the one found here in 1864 by Sir Antonio Brady.  The mammoth is being donated to us by Natural History Museum London and is currently displayed in their mammalian section at the museum.  The real skull is in the main foyer of their building and will remain there as one of their most prized assets.

The Mammoth Fayre will be held in Ilford town centre on the following days:

  • Sunday       2nd August 2015 from 09:00 - 18:00
  • Monday       3rd August 2015 from 09:00 - 18:00

  • Wednesday 5th August 2015 from 09:00 - 18:00
